This website has been designed to be accessible to as many web users as possible, irrespective of individual abilities and browser type. This statement gives information about accessibility features, and levels of conformance to industry standards.
All pages on this site have been written in, and validated as, XHTML 1.0 Strict, with all layout being created using a valid cascading style sheet (CSS). The aim is to conform to the W3C's Web Content Accessibility guidelines. Pages use structured XHTML where H1 tags are used for main titles, H2 and H3 for subtitles.
Access Keys
Most modern browsers support the use of access keys which allow the user to jump to specific links by typing keys defined on the web site.
All pages on this site use the following access keys:
- Access key s - Skip to content
- Access key 1 - Go to home page
- Access key b - Back to top of page
- Access key 0 - Go to this accessibility page
Activating an access key will take you to its defined hyperlink.
For Windows based browsers
- With Internet Explorer, hold down the ALT key, press the number or letter of the access key, release both keys then press ENTER
- With Mozilla Firefox 2 use ALT + Shift + an access key
- With earlier versions of Mozilla Firefox, hold down the ALT key and press an access key
- With Opera, hold down the Shift key and press Escape, release both keys, then press the number of the access key
For all Macintosh based browsers, hold down the CTRL key and press the number of the access key
Text Size
It is possible to change the text size with your browser.
- With Internet Explorer version 6 go to 'view' in the main menu and then text size.
- With Mozilla Firefox use the Ctrl + '+' to increase the text size, and the Ctrl + '-' to decrease the text size.
- If you are using Safari on a Macintosh select 'View' and then select 'Make Text Bigger' to increase the text size or 'Make Text Smaller' to reduce the text size.
