Somers Town Community Association has a long and successful history of working with young people between the ages of 8 - 19.
We have a new youth led Youth Club Project for 11-19 year olds which launched on Wednesday September 30 2009. The centre is open for two sessions from 3.30pm - 6.00pm and from 6.30pm - 9.00pm.
We aim to launch a youth cafe initiative running in conjunction with the youth club on Wednesdays. This will offer young people the opportunity to learn skills in catering and its associated enterprises and to obtain accreditation.
We also work in partnership with other groups such as Origin Housing who have provided us with a sessional youth worker and London Tigers who have operated club based activities from the centre.
We are currently working in association with and supporting "Take The Lead" a group of young people funded by the London Borough of Camden. "Take The Lead" are a music, dance and arts based group who recently put on a showcase event at the Shaw Theatre.
The Youth Club is open on Wednesdays from 3.30pm
Take The Lead meet on Fridays from 6.30pm.
