This summer solstice, Somers Town is throwing open its doors for a day of community, curiosity and imagination. Running across multiple community hubs, Somers Town Community Association, as part of the Melting Metropolis community storytelling programme, alongside community partners Scene & Heard and A Space for Us People’s Museum, supported by The Camden Council is hosting a free, family-friendly festival for all.

Expect street food and cooling drinks, ice cream, live music, cinema, creative workshops, kids’ activities such as face painting and a bubble show, stories, crafts, and plenty more. There’s something for everyone under the sun.

On the theme of heat, summer and community resilience, the day invites you to get creative, cool down and connect. Whether you want to make a clay sculpture inspired by the future, get a henna sun tattoo, join a conversation about what our city’s hotter summers mean for all of us, watch a short film, or simply enjoy the atmosphere — you’re welcome.

Bring your finest summer glad rags, a water bottle, a parasol — whatever helps you keep cool — and join us for a day of sunshine, connection and creativity.
