STCA at EarthfFest 2024

It was a 4-day long festival that brought together thought leaders, industry experts, inspiring and innovative organisations through a series of talks, workshops, exhibitions and live music. The event’s goal was to create and foster meaningful connections and empower ideas.

The STCA team showcased and spoke about the work that we’re involved with through the Future Neighbourhoods 20230 programme (link to FN2030 section), as well as the other projects that we host in both our sites that encourage sustainable, healthier choices. Many of the people and organisations we spoke to were curious to know about our different events and activities.  They were particularly keen to join the learning hub sessions where we hold different workshops on creating DIY natural home products, and learning sewing, repair and upcycling. A lot of them were keen to know more about gardening in city spaces.

On the EarthFest stage, our executive director, Sarah Elie MBE, joined Anna Hyde from Islington Climate Centre and Micah Douglas from Ocean Saver to speak about grassroots and community action. The panel discussion was hosted by Maeve Campbell.

The EarthFest 2024 was a great avenue to meet other people, businesses and organisations that feel equally passionate about doing something for the environment and the different issues that surround the topic of climate change. From known retail brands to passionate individuals to community organisations, it was an honour to meet and hear about the great work that is going into the fight for a better world.
