Back the climate and nature bill.
The landmark Climate and Nature Bill is now in Parliament and heading to a Second Reading! If you want to see bold, science-led action on the environmental crisis, the cross-party CAN Bill is exactly the legislation we need.
Written by leading scientists and supported by 192 MPs, 54 Peers, 374 local councils, 803 organisations, and 56,269 UK citizens, the CAN Bill will ensure the UK meets its international commitments on climate and nature by 2030 by:
1. Making sure the UK cuts emissions fairly and fully to stay within our share of the 1.5C carbon budget.
2. Making sure the UK not only halts but also reverses the destruction of nature by 2030.
3. Involving UK citizens in deciding the fairest way forward.
The CAN Bill is a historic piece of legislation that will make the UK into a true world leader on tackling the climate and nature crises.
But for it to succeed we need 100 MPs to support it when it returns to the House of Commons.
